Save Time and The Environment With ECards

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Life – It is so much busier and more hectic now than ever. There has always been the need to burn the midnight oil to get things done, but over those last few decades life in general has become crammed and this has resulted in people being forgetful, this can include remembering to purchase and send birthday presents and greeting cards.

When it comes to the purchasing of cards there is now new form of technology available online from which allows people to send friends, family and loved ones cards through the internet, which can help to save time, money and effort. This new technology is called ecards.

One of the first questions that you are probably asking is what are ecards? To put it simply, it is just an electronic version of a normal card but with animation, music and sound. To send one of our electronic cards, you need to subscribe to our website. Once you have done this all you need to do is pick the card that you want to send and then you can start customising your card.

A major feature of ecards is the ability to customise them to suit the person who you are sending it to. You can add their name and a personal message.  One more key factor to remember when you think about purchasing a normal card over an ecard, is that with an ecard you will not be damaging the environment. Obviously every time you purchase a normal birthday or greeting card for someone, it has to be printed and processed using a number of materials which usually involves the felling of a number of trees. People generally throw these greeting cards away a few weeks later. Then there is the journey to the shops to purchase a card and the transport to deliver it, all burning fossil fuel.

Sending ecards is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and send some joy at the same time.

New Saint Patrick’s Day Ecard added

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

We set ourselves a challenge to create a St Patricks Day E card that did not feature a leprechaun this year, so we opted for Saint Patrick himself appearing in a cheeky way as an illuminated manuscript:

We are sure sure Saint Patrick would have liked the occasional Guinness, so hopefully it will not be viewed as being disrespectful.

My Mother’s Day Memories

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

It makes me smile to think that during my infant years, when my mother’s mothering was it its most intense, I was at my most oblivious. But a few years on, as a little girl testing my independence, I hope I made up for it with handmade gifts and wobbly dishes of sugary treats.

The night before, my father might come home with a bunch of flowers elaborately hidden beneath his coat, which he then smuggled into a vase. It was my cue to set to work in my bedroom, surrounded by card, ribbon and glue, waiting for inspiration to strike and my creation to take shape.

In my early teens I was grown-up enough to make a bigger contribution- perhaps even managing a delicious breakfast here and there. One year, fruit plate and smoothie proudly arranged on a decorated tray, I bumped into an object walking up the stairs, which, I soon discovered, was my mother. Although delighted with the goodies which I explained were heading in her direction she said she had to rush to an appointment, leaving me standing baffled on the stairs. Later that day the bizarre little incident became clear as my brothers and I finally presented our cards and our mother exclaimed: ‘Oh, is it mother’s day?!’

Reaching into my late teens focused on the new idea of attending Art College, dare I sheepishly admit to forgetting Mother’s Day, or being too wrapped up in my work, and the events happening in my life to spare some thought for my Mother on her special day of the year.

Hitting my twenties and living away from home I came to fully appreciate my mother once again- the food parcels, the home-cooked meals and, yes, the occasional bag of washing. Always a card, and I sometimes managed to persuade my bothers to make a space in their busy lives to treat her to a bite to eat or a trip to the theatre. And we were never in any doubt afterwards that it was 100% worth it.

So it has continued until I was able to start enjoying Mother’s days in my own right and I came to understand just how important they are. There’s nothing quite like the clumsy wrapping of a small gift or the hushing in the hallway of young voices when they are trying to surprise you. In fact, when my children were little I used to enjoy the squabbles over who would be in charge of giving what as much as the tokens themselves. And their sweet sentiments in thoughtful cards continue to delight me today.

My family has now become my greatest testing ground. And they don’t come much more helpful than my mother!

At I have created a collection of mother’s day ecards that are quick to preview and just as easy to send. Mother’s day gives us all a chance to express our appreciation for the woman who brought us into the world and to let her know we do not take her for granted. I hope that from my selection of 8 mother’s day e cards there will be one that is just right for you to send to your Mom.

Looking forward to the Easter Holidays

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Easter weekend is a great time for family and friends to get together. A long weekend just as the weather is beginning to change, flowers are in bloom and the smell of spring is in the air. As you may have guessed, I’m quite a fan of the Easter break!

We like to try and capture this mood in the Easter e cards and feel we have had some success with our previous efforts. What next? Well, a new card is in the pipeline. We feel it’s important to add to the Easter ecard selection as they have proved to be very popular.

We do love creating the Easter ecards as they seem to inspire a good mood in a similar way to the Christmas ones. I guess the big holidays are something to we all look forward to and are generally full of fun.

As for me, I’ll be spending the break with my lovely family and cheeky dog. Have a great Easter and don’t forget to check out our new card, which will be up on the site soon.
