The Jewish festival of Passover begins today and lasts for the next eight days. During Passover or Pesach, as its known in Hebrew, Jews remember the Exodus from Egypt when the Children of Israel were freed from slavery. Passover has been celebrated since approximately the year 1300 B.C. The story of the Exodus tells of how God sent ten plagues to the Egyptians as they continued to hold the Israelites as slaves. When the Pharaoh finally freed the slaves, the Israelites are said to have left so quickly that they didn’t have time to let the bread rise. Matzot (unleavened bread) are eaten throughout Passover to commemorate this story.

We don’t currently have any Passover ecards on the Katie’s Cards website but we hope to add some to our collection over the coming months.
