Saturday, March 9th, 2013

If you’ve forgotten to send a Mother’s Day card then don’t worry! If you send an ecard from the Katie’s Cards website, it arrives in the inbox of the recipient immediately. Alternatively, you can easily schedule the card to arrive in your Mum’s inbox first thing tomorrow morning. We have a lovely collection of Mother’s Day ecards here on the Katie’s Cards website. In fact, the first card that I made for the website was for my own Mother so I really hope that you find a card that suits the tastes and interests of yours.

If you aren’t lucky enough to be spending Mother’s Day with your Mum, then why not send her an ecard to brighten up her morning?

Interesting Mother’s Day Article

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

I recently stumbled across this article about Mother’s Day in National Geographic magazine. It tells the story of Anna Jarvis who, in 1908, fought passionately for Mother’s Day to be observed. However, she resented the consequent commercialisation of the day and was adamant that it should be known as ‘Mother’s Day’ rather than ‘Mothers’ Day.’ For her, it was about celebrating your mother, not all mothers. It’s an interesting account of the history behind Mother’s Day and adds a poignant element to the “brunch, bouquets and bling” that now characterise the day for many people.

If you want to show your mother just how much you appreciate her, then you can send her one of our beautiful Mother’s Day ecards. In the U.K, Mother’s Day falls on the 10th March this year, while in the United States it will be celebrate on the 12th May.
